Profile of a Graduate of the Medical Program
Studies in the Medical (Physician) program last 6 years (12 semesters). Graduates of the Medical program receive a diploma and the professional title of physician (medical doctor).
After completing their studies, graduates sit for the Medical Final Examination. Upon passing it, they obtain the license to practice as a physician, which entitles them to work in public and private healthcare institutions, scientific as well as research centers, academic institutions, organizations involved in counseling and dissemination of knowledge in the field of health education, as well as in clinics of medical universities.
Completion of the studies enables further development of qualifications, knowledge, and skills through medical specializations as well as supplementary and continuing education courses in various medical fields, and also allows continuation of education in third-cycle (doctoral) studies.
The practice of the medical profession consists in providing healthcare services by a person with the required qualifications, in particular: assessing health status, diagnosing and preventing diseases, treating and rehabilitating patients, providing medical advice, as well as issuing medical opinions and certificates within the scope of one’s specialization.
A graduate of the Medical program:
- Possesses knowledge in the field of basic medical sciences relating to the structure and functioning of the human body, forming the basis for medical activities in health and disease.
- Has knowledge and practical skills enabling independent performance of professional tasks in prevention, diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Is able to effectively provide first aid, recognize life-threatening conditions, and undertake appropriate medical interventions.
- Has the ability to conduct analysis and synthesis processes in assessing the functioning of the human body, forming the basis for medical activities in health and disease.
- Is able to establish and maintain ethically, socially, and legally appropriate relationships with patients, within their own professional group, and with cooperating professionals.
- Has the ability to undertake organizational and management-related tasks in healthcare institutions.
